Lessons from the Farm
I am one of the very lucky ones who has managed to combine my great passion in life with my profession. Cooking is never a chore, and in fact, it is not unusual for me, at the end of a very long working day, to find relaxation in cooking a meal for my family.
My farm in Bowral is the focal point for all my cooking, be it for family, for TV or in the cooking school. It’s here that I grow perfect seasonal produce, combine it with the best ingredients available and develop food that can be enjoyed and shared.
I have been running classes here for 10 years, on and off depending on my outside commitments, and because it is something I come back to time and time again, classes are always inspiring, fun, very personal and never tired.
The classes are 3 1/2 hours of instruction where every step of the recipes is demonstrated, ingredients passed around, lots of tips along the way and finally, a tasting of the finished dish. Every question is answered along the way and classes are informal, relaxed and jovial. You leave with a hatful of recipes, understanding of the principals involved as well as having enjoyed a great day in a beautiful part of the world.

Where the lessons are held
Bowral is around 90 minutes south of Sydney Airport, about 90 minutes north of Canberra. Classes are held in a purpose built studio demonstration kitchen, nestled amongst a fabulous vegetable, herb and orchard garden.
No classes are scheduled for 2008 or 2009, but if we do find the time, we will post the details here.
